Robert Velin, Ph.D.

Neuropsychologist

Dr. Velin is a highly experienced neuropsychologist with over 35 years of expertise in clinical practice and research involving both adults and children. He has worked with diverse populations and is committed to enhancing and preserving cognitive function. His focus includes optimizing performance for athletes, musicians, and business professionals, as well as supporting individuals with ADHD, Autism, processing disorders, learning disabilities, and treatment-resistant mood disorders, among others. His neurofeedback protocols are grounded in a comprehensive understanding of neurofunctional processes and systems, yielding positive outcomes for more than two decades.

Mendy Bucy, LCSW

Program Manager & Certified Menopause Coaching Specialist

Mendy is a licensed clinical social worker with over 30 years of experience working with children, adolescents, and families, over two decades of which has been in the field of neurofeedback. Her in-depth understanding of the dynamics and interplay between neurocognitive challenges and behavior allows her to support clients wholistically and without judgment. Mendy enjoys working with individuals of all ages but specifically focuses on optimizing brain health for women experiencing changes associated with menopause, stress management, performance enhancement and individuals experiencing anxiety and depression. When not working, she enjoys spending time with her husband and children, traveling, taking her dog Yadi for walks, and reading.

Julia Nicholson, BA

Neurofeedback Technician

After graduating from the University of Montana in 2023 with a dual degree in Psychology and Social work, Julia joined the team at Northwest Neurofeedback. Julia is very passionate about assisting clients in improving their brain function and enjoys the opportunity to work with individuals of all ages and cognitive goals. She is our most senior technician and plays a large role in training new technicians and program development, including the home training and reading programs. A native Montanan, when not at work Julia enjoys spending time outdoors and hanging with her dog, Jack Jack.

Tom Macko, MA

Neurofeedback Technician

 Tom has been a part of Northwest Neurofeedback since 2024 and brings a multidisciplinary background to his role. He has previously worked as a research assistant, studying the underlying neuroscience of fear and memory, and as a registered behavior technician supporting children and adolescents diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder. An Ohio native, he received his bachelor’s in psychology from the University of Akron and is currently a PhD student at the University of Montana’s Experimental Psychology program focusing on quantitative psychology and child development.

Sharece Kamps, BA

Neurofeedback Technician

Sharece joined Northwest Neurofeedback in October 2024. After serving in the US Army, she graduated from Cochise College (Arizona) and in 2016 Sharece and her family relocated to Montana.  Sharece sees clients of all ages; however, she is particularly drawn to working with young children and veterans. She is also the primary technician for our home training program. When not working, Sharece and her husband enjoy camping, fishing, and spending quality time with their daughters.

Taylor Draper, BA

Administrative Assistant

Originally from Southern Idaho, Taylor moved to Missoula in 2022 to attend college. She graduated in 2024 with a B.A. in Psychology. She loves providing a support role in a clinic and thrives on creating protocol and structure to maximize administrative efficiency while also providing a warm, comforting environment for clients. Taylor is passionate about working with children and teens and enjoys interacting with them daily. Because of this passion, she is currently applying to graduate school to become a therapist specializing in adolescent trauma. Outside of work, you’ll likely find her spending time outdoors with her husband and their black lab, Sammy, doing nails, or getting lost in a good book.
